Lead CMS Developer

Gangverk is looking for an experienced developer to take a leading role in developing features and architecting solutions for our customer's main website, built in an expansive, professional CMS (content management system).

We’re working with Sotheby’s – a world renowned, 275 year old auction house – revolutionising their business with technology. We’ve built an auction engine, customer facing experiences, proprietary databases, internal tools, all to power the tech-enabled auction house.

The external Sotheby's website runs on a CMS, and with plans to integrate the editorial websites even deeper with transactional and auction related apps (web and mobile), we need more expertise on CMS within our product teams.

What you'll be doing

• You'll be a part of a fully stacked, cross functional feature team, working on product features across all platforms and layers of our technology.
• You'll participate in the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of code and product features.
• You'll be expected to take a leading role with regards to technical communication with a CMS specific vendor, as well as being trained in, and training / mentoring other developers in CMS development.
• You'll participate in architecting how the different systems under construction: editorial, transactional, user management, and so forth, interact and integrate.

Qualifications

• 5-8+ years of professional web development experience, a proven record of developing public-facing websites, and a general passion for web development.
• Experience developing data driven web applications in Java.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design and software development principles.
• Strong understanding of web-based architecture (web servers, load balancing, caching, databases, replication, etc.) and technologies.
